My name Carolina and here is where I write about fitness, nutrition and overall healthy lifestyle. I My greatest motivation is discovering the amazing things my body can do. I have an undeniable love for learning and laughing hard. Oh, and cussing. That ranks up pretty high, too.
Some people like stats, so I’ll tell you I’m 31 years old, my height is 5’4, and my weight is typically anywhere from 117 to 124 lbs.– the latter after building muscle.
I had a baby in September 2012. Her name is Era, and she now joins the ranks with older sisi Anna (13) and daddy Stephen to form our lovely, quirky, funny family. Hey, he’s Newfie and I’m Mexican so yeah, there’s quite a bit of laughing going on around here. We live in Ontario, Canada. Yes, there is plenty of snow. No, no igloos.
I love to dance and read, and writing has become a wonderful way of releasing the jumble of ideas that run around in my head. I’m fluent in both English and Spanish (my first language), so translations and interpreting are particularly fun for me.
Currently I’m going through a one-year experiment of which I will talk about in detail once it’s done. So far I’ll tell you it is proving to be challenging but amazing, and I’m learning so much (which can only be good news to you reading this space!). The more I understand about how our body works, the more amazed I become. I’m fascinated by the obvious mind-body connection and how it influences our everyday performance, recovery and health. To be perfectly honest and risking sounding like a woo-woo new age nutcase, self-healing and the understanding of energy hold a special place in my heart. I really believe that I have learned and practiced in those areas has shaped my life experience to be what it is today. And I love it!
I am a certified Personal Trainer, certified Zumba instructor, and I’m working hard on specializing in what has become a passion: Sports nutrition. I hold a Precision Nutrition Level 1 certification. I’m currently undergoing their Level 2 certification– I’m part of the first generation!
I’m getting to experiencing working out, achieving fitness goals and causing changes on my body viewing it all through a Reiki perspective. I quite like it.
On the side I’m also learning my way into becoming a doula (a birth assistant/support person for the birthing mom), I enjoy reading about natural and ancient remedies, I like to pretend I know what I’m doing when I take pictures and I hope to one day learn photography in a more professional level.
